Interactive Clothing
I found this T-shirt online. I could not find who it was by but I did find a website where they give you step by step instructions on how to make one. It is a T-shirt with a car track on it designed so that an adult can lie down and the children can play cars on the back.
This is designed to be fun for the kids and give a massage for the adult. This is a simple yet great example of clothing designed for children to interact with.

Minti
Minti
is a childrenswear label that stocks in children’s boutiques all around
Australia. Perpetually Five believes that this is the main competitor. Their
clothes are fun, childlike and offer something different in the childrenswear
market.

to find out what they look for in when it comes to clothing for both themselves
and their children.
The results:
The fathers surveyed had mix reviews on
the clothing they shop for. While some wanted cheap and trend based items
others looked for quality and something different.
Most of all the parents went for
something that was durable. Even though they would shop for something cheap and
easy they would also look for high quality garments that can be mixed and
matched.
Colour was important to the fathers
surveyed. Colours the child could relate to.
All parents shoped for their childrens
clothing. When buying something more expensive they looked for quality, well
made and versatile.

Fitting of the Child Model
Fitting my toils onto my model. This is the first time I have ever made childrens wear and its great to see the result come a live and fit. I like the oversize of the jumper you can then grow into it. The shirt seems to fit quite nicely. The pants were a bit big around the waist and the length but maybe it would be best if I just tightened the elastic at the back.
Fittings are also a great way to talk to your consumer. I got to know what the boy liked about it and what he didn't like about the garments. Overall he just did not like how the pants were a bit big.

Potential Consumers
The Tiny Sartorialist, Is a blog that was set up by two creative parents as an artistic way of sharing updates with family in a candid, street fashion style.
I believe that both the father and son would be interested in my products as they fit my consumer perfectly. Someone who cares about fashion, loves colour and is highly interactive father and son.

Music Reviews by children
Vice Magazine get children to review music for the You Review channel.This video just shows how different children think compared to adults. The videos are really entertaining as the children say what they think and as children are learning, if they do not know what something means they put their own interpretation on the meaning which is fun!
Reviews Skrillex.There are references like "the drop is when you drop being sensible". They are all dressed up pretending to be adults in a night club.
Reviewing the Cribs new single. Here you see them draw pictures of what they think the singer looks like. I agree with one of the boys 'Elephants would stomp around to this music'.
Here they review Azealia Banks '212'. This is another fun one where the children give her some advice on how to do better and even try rapping along '212 do a poo'.
Review on Radiohead: 'I think he doesnt have any friends... I think this band only eats vegetables'
Hypercolour
Hypercolour was a line of clothing, mainly T-shirts and shorts, that changed colour with heat.
They contained a thermochromic pigment that changed between two colours - one when cold, one when warm. However, the effect could easily be permanently damaged, when washed incorrectly.

Childrens Observational Research
On the weekend of March 31 and April 1 I went to Monkey Mania in Fyshwick to observe how children act and be adventurous in a playful environment. I found with through my observation that children use their imagination almost everywhere in every day life. With their friends they are playful and excited and with the adults they are trying to impress.
Their clothing doesn't really show off who they are or who the child can be. The majority of the clothing was plain and boring with low quality. Childrens clothing these days are highly influenced by what their parents are wearing and through this observational research I discovered that many of the parents were dressed exactly like the children just a lot bigger. I found this task helpful in my research for both my consumer and my designs.
